Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation

Established in 1977, in the memory of Jamnalal Bajaj, a humanitarian, philanthropist, social reformer, freedom fighter of India and a close associate of Mahatma Gandhi, the Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation strives to serve the ideals to which Jamnalal Bajaj had dedicated his life and promotes the kind of Gandhian constructive activities in which he himself was deeply involved during his life-time. The Foundation also instituted Jamnalal Bajaj Awards.

In recalling the stalwarts of India’s freedom, Jamnalal Bajaj’s name is integral to it for his single-minded commitment and making words into deeds. Also for his pure devotion to Gandhian ideology, Gandhiji adpoted him as his "fifth" son.

Bajaj, more than a corporate identity, is a catalyst for social empowerment of the poorest of the poor, thus bringing smiles to a million faces. It resonates a goodwill in the consciousness of the Indians in two words "Hamara Bajaj".

Awards

The objective of Jamnalal Bajaj Awards is to recognize and suitably reward the selfless contribution of persons who dedicate their life to Gandhian Constructive Work and the ideals which Jamnalal Bajaj had cherished all his life.

Wardha

This historic region is situated in the heartland of India about 75 kms from Nagpur (Maharashtra). Wardha with its rich heritage is perhaps the smallest district of the country  and has witnessed many events of national and social relevance.
